TALCBOXES

TalcboxesTalcboxes are small cylindrical containers usually containing talcs on one end and circlips on the other. Talcs are coverslips made of mica and circlips are C-shaped brass pieces designed to hold the talcs in place. Early talcboxes were made of ivory, later ones were sometimes made of brass. These were supplied with microscopes designed to use bone sliders instead of the later glass slides.
