McALLISTER'S PORTABLE HOUSEHOLD MICROSCOPE:

There are two T.H. McAllister Household Microscopes in this collection. They are virtually identical except for the signatures. One is signed both on the sleeve holding the optical tube, and on the sliding optical tube as well. The signature on the sleeve is stamped in block letters, whereas the tube is engraved in flowing script. The other microscope has the signature only on top of the eyepiece. I know of other examples where only the stamped signature on the sleeve is found.
