DESCRIPTION:
sig Signed on the brass turntable itself: McINTOSH, B.&O.Co.CHICAGO. The brass turntable has a series of concentric circles engraved in the center of its top surface. There are two stage clips attached by screws. The smaller knob under the turntable is used to rotate the table more quickly than by moving the table top. The support is made of black-painted cast iron.

HISTORY AND USAGE:
This device is the commonest type of antique slide-ringing table found today, and was produced by many makers both in England and the U.S.A. Examples by McIntosh are uncommon however. This type of turntable is still made today in the 21st Century by Brunel Microscopes and also Bioquip, and has been made by others.
