The mechanical stage closely resembles the Feuss Petrographic mechanical stage: microscope

The top condenser lens for high power work is moved into or out of the optical axis by a small lever on the left side of the stage: microscope

The rotating stage is calibrated and marked in one degree increments from 0-360o, labeled every ten degrees. In addition there are Venier scales on plates at the rear of the stage marked in one minute intervals from 0 to 60, labeled every ten minutes: stage rotation scales

The top stage movement in the X and Y axes is controlled by small nickel-plated knurled knobs. This movement is registered via the scales on the left side of the stage: microscope

In addition, the knob on the right side of the staghe is itself also calibrated: microscope
